“Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention to arrive safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: Wow!! What a ride!”—
“Before I was born, I was in your belly. And then I slid, slid, slid…Everything was turning around me and I was going up and down, and it was like a wave, going up and down. And then I slid. It was fun.”—Capucine. I still can’t figure out how she made this up. I don’t know if this is pure imagination, if she heard something at school, or if she has some uncounscious reminiscences of her birth ? (via capucha)
no one reads anything online or so they say. where do you go from there? do you just accept that as a fact and let users dive into the water without checking the depth first -or- do you put up more warning signs and create barriers to make them stop and think? and if do decide on one or the other, does that really benefit the users or the service?
and why is it that whenever i ask myself this question i start to sound like “X” from the movie JFK?
"Well that’s the real question, isn’t it? Why? The how and the who is just scenery for the public. Oswald, Ruby, Cuba, the Mafia. Keeps ‘em guessing like some kind of parlor game, prevents ‘em from asking the most important question, why? Why was Kennedy killed? Who benefited? Who has the power to cover it up? Who? "
“Okay, here’s the story. I come from the gutter. I know that. I got no education but that’s okay. I know the street, and I’m making all the right connections. With the right woman, there’s no stopping me. I could go right to the top. Anyway… what I got to tell you is this: I like you. I liked you the first time I laid eyes on you. I said, “She’s a tiger. i’ve had a strange day dream on my way subway ride home this evening. when people request a web page from vimeo, instead of serving html pages, we will serve them a blank page and we will render the page in real-time by collaboratively hand-drawing the each page with tablet pc equipped artists. sometimes the artists would fight over how the page should be drawn so they would erase each others work or make an annotation on the screen that reads “this looks stupid”. the hottest part of all this is we will have to color and underline each links on the page in real-time when the user mouse over them.
did i have too much sugar today? possibly. anyway… i thought of the domain name and everything. www.vimeonpaper.com.
