I like this because I can almost hear the arguments among the designers while they were prototyping the product. I suspect there were designers proposing they use different chimes to indicate brushing mode and others suggesting they should use graphical icons to represent them. And just when the room got quiet one designer said “why don’t we just say it instead?”
